Professional Profile
recording artist | live performer
Fi Buchet, known professionally as FiBu, is a New Zealand-based recording artist, vocalist, songwriter and music producer whose work combines expressive vocals, electronic production and a distinctive experimental sensibility.
As an independent artist, FiBu writes, composes and produces original music that explores themes of spirituality, identity, self-acceptance, human connection, and the social complexities of the world around us. Her catalogue spans vocal-led songs, instrumental electronic compositions, remixes and collaborative projects, with a sound that moves between atmospheric, unconventional, soulful and emotive.
Moving freely between lyrical expression and wordless vocalisations, FiBu uses sound to explore emotions and ideas that words alone cannot always convey.
The Pink Floyd Experience
BACKING VOCALIST
Alongside her independent recording career, FiBu is a touring vocalist with The Pink Floyd Experience, New Zealand, bringing her vocal versatility and ear for harmonies to this internationally-acclaimed ensemble.
In 2026 the band performed Floyd's iconic The Wall, and in 2027 will showcase three albums in a single show: Animals, Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of The Moon.
This role brings together vocal performance, voice-acting, harmony singing, musical sensitivity and collaborative stagecraft within a large-scale live concert production.
Independent Recording Artist & Music Producer
FiBu creates music that has been described as “atmospheric and slightly disturbing… in a good way!” Her approach to music composition and production is driven by a love of discordance, unexpected sonic combinations, complex rhythms and deep bass, bringing unlikely sounds together to create distinctive and often unexpected musical landscapes.
A piece can begin with a single sound and evolve into something entirely unexpected. This exploratory approach underpins FiBu’s work across experimental electronica, instrumental composition and vocal-led music, where the voice itself can become part of the sonic texture rather than simply carrying lyrics.
For FiBu, music is an ongoing journey rather than a destination — a process of discovery, evolution and creative surrender. Her work is grounded in a spiritual connection to the creative process, with music serving as a means of expression and a way to share something meaningful with others.
